Discussion

  • Some additional comments: We do realize that 2+ months is a long campaign, but we hope it is possible if run it with appropriate diets, i.e. not shown too often. Possibility to change wording during the contest (eg. the contest has started → the contest continues → the contest is about to end) would be much appreciated. --AntonProtsiuk (WMUA) (talk) 13:58, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hi, glad you thought about that, and that can be arranged. Why would you like to have the banner shown to logged in and anonymous users? Is the competition open to non registered users, or do you have metrics about new accounts? Ciell (talk) 21:14, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ciell: The competition is not open to non-registered users, but we've heard anecdotal evidence of people registering because of contest banners; I am not aware of any hard numbers though. It is not essential for us that the banner is shown to anonymous users if you think that would be an issue, but we traditionally ask for that hoping that it would be a factor in increasing participation. --AntonProtsiuk (WMUA) (talk) 12:57, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      Hi AntonProtsiuk (WMUA),
Yes, I do think we all realise that some people may create an account to join the competition, but with the amount of banners that are shown to anonymous users, we have to be a bit more picky in our choices, I think. So if you wouldn't mind, it would be better to only turn it on for registered, and reach the users without an account with a different method, like SM targetting for instance. Drafted at [1]. Feel free to comment the banner. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 23:12, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

and campaign drafted at [2]. I'm not going to enable it now, because there are unanswered concerns at this page. Diets are now set to 20 % of traffic, and 3 impressions per a week. @Ceill: Do you think that's reasonable? --Martin Urbanec (talk) 23:16, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I switched of the ano's per discussion, and enabled it. Ciell (talk) 11:17, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
