Shetkari Sanghatana & Sharad Joshi Archive Project

CIS-A2K organised a meeting with the key persons of the Sharad Joshi trust on 12 December at Ambethan to decide on the methodology and process of archive project. The participants were introduced to Wikimedia projects initially. The copyright issues and different licenses were discussed. Wikisource training Alva's college
On 14 & 15 December 2019 CIS-A2K in association with Alva's college organised a Wikisource training for 18 students. Advanced skills which would enhance their knowledge and ease their contribution to Wikisource were thought such as templates which are used to proofread, using the Google OCR tools, using the java scripts to proofread the pages easily and transclusion was thought during the training read more...
Re-licensing sessions with author and organisation
CIS-A2K is collaborating with various organisations, institutions and authors to re-license their content under CC-BY-SA 4.0. Photo-walk in Pune
CIS-A2K conducted photo-walk in two places (Shaniwar Wada & Tambat Aali) of Pune. These are historic places and its necessary to document with appropriate images on Wikimedia Commons. Review meeting and MoU with Vigyan Ashram
CIS-A2K conducted a  review meeting with Vigyan Ashram in the last two years. The Wiki co-ordinator presented the statistics of Wikipedia articles, Commons uploads and Wikisource work. The scanning details were also discussed. Wikiorientation at Dr.GR Damodaran College of Science
An orientation session on Wikimedia projects was held on 6-7 December 2019 at Dr. GR Damodaran College of Science. This talk was part of the “Hour of Code” event, This event was supported by Open Knowledge movements which help students to share their knowledge in the form of volunteerships and contributions. The highlights of gender gap research and women based projects such as Women in Red were covered as part of a focussed group discussion.read more...
Review meeting and MoU with Alva's college
CIS-A2K entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to steward the growth of Kannada Wikipedia and to make available free knowledge in Kannada to all Kannada speaking people across the globe. The broad objective of this program is to insist Writing Skills, Digital information literacy skills, Ability to critically engage with a concept/theme and Language proficiency skills on the students.
