CIS-A2K (Centre for Internet and Society - Access to Knowledge) is a campaign to promote the fundamental principles of justice, freedom, and economic development. It deals with issues like copyrights, patents and trademarks, which are an important part of the digital landscape.

Community Collaborations

CIS-A2K is inviting proposals to collaborate with the community members of Indic Wikimedia projects towards co-organising various projects and activities that are helpful to the advancement of Indic Wikimedia projects (like theme-based campaigns, community meet-ups, and outreach activities). The collaborations page will be open to all the community members based in India who have an idea and are willing to co-organise the event with CIS-A2K.

  • Requirements
    • The collaboration activity planned should be conducted within India only. Any activity planned outside India is not eligible for a collaboration proposal
    • A minimum of three users as organisers/leads are required for the proposed collaboration
    • Proposal has to align within the strategic direction of the CIS-A2K
    • Links to discussion with the relevant community over the community mailing list, IRC, or Village Pump
  • Process
  • Step 1: Collaborative proposal submission
The collaboration proposal should contain the following:
  • Usernames of the organiser(s)
  • Name and type of the event/activity
  • Purpose/Objectives of the event/activity
  • Expected start date and end date of the activity (Should have a gap of a minimum of 4 weeks between the collaboration proposal date and the start date of the event/activity)
  • Expected budget for the event/activity
  • Expected number of participants
  • Metrics and Outcomes
  • Follow-up/Post engagement plans
  • Step 2: Initial Discussion Call
  • Once the proposal has been submitted, the proposer(s) is/are requested to schedule an initial discussion call with A2K staff within one week of submission.
  • Please use one of the available blocks from this Calendar Appointment page
  • Step 3: Collaborative design of the program and timeline
  • Once the collaboration proposal is agreed by CIS-A2K, an A2K team member will be assigned for coordination
  • The A2K team member will be involved in designing a collaborative program and discuss support that A2K could provide in conducting the event
  • Step 4: Documentation
  • Necessary documentation work will be done.
  • Timeline with internal meetings and clear division of work between A2K & collaborating community members will be laid down.
  • Step 5: Report Submission
  • Draft report should be completed before 15 after completion of the project/activity and final report should be published within 30 days after the project/activity.
  • Proposer(s) and A2K member who involved in the project/activity will collaborate to complete the report.
  • Timelines and Discussions
    • Initial Discussion Calls: Within one week from the date of submission of the collaboration proposal, the proposer(s) is/are requested to schedule an initial discussion call with the team members of CIS-A2K.
    • Review Period: After the initial discussion call, the A2K team will require a maximum of three weeks to review the proposal and communicate their decision.

NOTE:

  • If required, the A2K team might request one or more discussion call to understand the proposal during the review period.
