Your ideas edit
Hey Bronsonboy, and thank you for the note with ideas. I agree they're really really good. We don't do a great job of categorizing things, and the wiki doesn't inherently make that easy. There's a project afoot called Semantic MediaWiki that would fix some of those things. The concept of unifying the "New Messages" is one that I've heard batted around for a while. There are some technical hurdles, but - you're right - now's the time to fix them. I'm pleased, though, that we've got a new Lead Software Architect (actually, he's come BACK to us... it's Brion Vibber, who basically wrote the book on this stuff. I hope that as they develop the next version of Mediawiki (did you know we're still in version 1? 1.18, to be precise), we can address some of those ideas.
