The problem that Wikistatistics should solve, is the great amount of new numerary. Every Football player has a statistic on how many games he has participated and how many goals he has shot. Or how many inhabitants a town has.

This is a proposal for a new Wikimedia sister project.

The problem is not that great for the english, german or french Wikipedia but for the others (i.e. the population of Kazakhstan is in the most Wikipedias on the date of 1999 not 2009, see the Dutch or the Estonian). Another disadvantage is that every statistic has to be updated 30 or more times (for every language once).

The solution would be to create a Wiki like Commons where every stat for every topic can be bundled. Every Wikipedia would set a directlink and if you click on the statistic you get to Wikistatistics where you can edit it. --Gnuser 19:22, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
