Template:Infobox Jain Temple Wikipedia Treks Sammed Sikhar is a trekking exploration event to be held in Sammed Sikhar, Jharkhand, India. This event is inspired by Wikipedia Treks Mountains. Sammed Shikhar or Shikharji or Parasnath Hill is a famous Jain pilgrimage site in Eastern India. The word Sammed Shikhar means peak of concentration, so named because it is believed that in this hill, twenty out of twenty-four Tirthankaras attained a state of mokṣa through meditative concentration. The hill rises to Template:Convert above sea level, making it the highest point in the state of Jharkhand.
The aim of this event is to photograph the Jain temples and tonks of Sammed Sikhar during a day long trek and upload them to Wikimedia Commons for use on Wikipedia. This is 27 km long trek and only take a day to complete. So, no need to bring hiking equipments, just a digital camera and a notebook should be enough for the trek. Accomodations are there at Madhuban in the form of Hotels and Dharamshalas, so no need to bring tents and sleeping bag.
