Since then, progress in the development of matters pertaining to Open Access and related issues have been reported in the monthly Open Access Reports as part of the GLAM Newsletter, and updates to this page have been discontinued.
Science file of the dayeditThis section will host the preparations for a sciency version of Picture of the day. If you come across some great files (e.g. images, multimedia, CSV, code snippets) already in use in or potentially useful for a Wikimedia project, please post them here for consideration to be included in the series. Thank you.
Reuse stats for Open Access sourceseditMaterials in this section have been superseded by those presented in the Open Access Reports and the occasional Tool testing reports. Reuse of suitably licensed materials from external sources is common already, as highlighted by the numerous attribution templates (snapshot as of July 20, 2011) and content partnerships (snapshot as of July 20, 2011). However, Open Access materials have not been tapped systematically as a source for Wikimedia projects. As an illustration of the current state of affairs, consider the following table that lists mentions of different sources on the English Wikipedia (typically as references; "Citing" column) and on Wikimedia Commons (typically files taken from such references, "Reused" column). Numbers displayed here are from May 31, 2011. All of the pages linked below have also been archived manually by way of WebCite on July 20, 2011. Help with automating the documentation of these numbers would be appreciated.
