Meeting with Legal Hackers

Marco Correa gathered with Andrés Jara, representative of Legal Hackers in Chile, to argue the possibilities of future collaboration between both institutions.

Summary/report:
Sarah Chambers, secretary of the directory of Wikimedia Chile, presented an introduction to Wikipedia, his uses and applications through a session of Pre-Workshop done for the course "Theory and Practical, Multimedia Journalism" for students of 4० year of the Institute of the Communication and Image of the University of Chile, under the direction of the professor Mrs. Patricia Crag. We expect to follow participating with a series of workshops that will teach in depth fear of edition and free knowledge.

Summary/report:
It made the session of corresponding directory to the second quarter of 2016, in where it decided the vote of Wikimedia Chile for the election of the members of the Directory of the Foundation Wikimedia elected by the organisations Wikimedia (Affiliate-selected Board seats). Also it argued the adoption of an own politics of "safe space" (Friendly Space Policy) for the activities of Wikimedia Chile.

Inside the frame of the project Wikipedia in the University 2016 made the second workshop of Wikipedia in the University, in the chair of Interactive Communication of the career of Management of Information, Libraries and Archives of the University Alberto Stolen. The responsible professor of the course is Enzo Abbagliati, and in the talk reviewed the articles chosen by the students, evaluating his development and completitud of the subjects proposed. In the day, the students made queries related with the edition, rights of author and doubts in general about Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons.

Summary/report:
Marco Correa and Sarah Chambers participated the the symposium Connected south, organised by the Berkman Center for Internet & Society, UNICEF and the ICEI of the University of Chile, made in the Open Space of Telefónica. In the event of two days, both directors participated of tables of work on the participation in Internet of women, young and other groups in our continent, generated new institutional contacts and dictated a tutorial called "How do more amicable Wikipedia".

Marco Correa assisted to the recording of the program Desgenerando of Irradiate it University of Chile, where spoke on the brecha of gender in Wikipedia and the efforts of the Foundation Wikimedia and Wikimedia Chile for adding to women to the edition in Wikipedia and to increase the contents on gender in the encyclopaedia. The program was issued on 22 May.
