Wikimedia Tunisie/WikiGap Challenge 2021

What? edit

WikiGap Challenge Tunisia 2021 is a public writing competition to create and improve articles to strengthen Wikipedia's coverage of women and related topics into as many languages as possible, including the languages for Wikipedias in the Wikimedia incubator. The winners will receive prizes. The Challenge is organized as part of the global WikiGap campaign with the first edition in 2019.

When? edit

The writing challenge will run from 00:01 on 8 February (CET UTC+01:00) until 23:59 on 8 March 2021 (CET UTC+01:00). Monday 8 March is the International Women's Day.

How? edit

The contest is simple in structure, you get points while improving or writing articles on Wikipedia, with the goal for each participant to gain as many points as possible. But before, please fill in this form.

Who? edit

Everybody can help in any language to collaborate on writing and/or translating the articles related to Tunisian women. Any Wikipedian living in Tunisia with a named account (on any wiki, including the incubator) can participate. To participate you just need to fill the form and we will give you information how you successfully can participate.

Why? edit

The contest is organized by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs(ref) and Wikimedia Sverige, with support from Swedish embassies, and Wikimedia Tunisia across the world. Wikipedia is missing articles about all kinds of topics and through this contest we hope to improve articles around women. Improving Wikipedia's articles and coverage around women is important to ensure that our readers find high quality information about the people that have helped form our world.
