For general information about traveling in Estonia, please consult the Travel guide.

Vanemuise 46. Location of University of Tartu Natural History Museum

Our meeting would be held at University of Tartu Natural History Museum (Vanemuise 46). It is located between the train station and city center.

Some other locations would also be used. For instace there would a sauna event in korp! Vironia house at Lai 30 on Saturday evening.

Accommodation edit

Vaksali 4. Building was constructed in the 19th century and is a cultural heritage monument

Accommodation for the participants is reserved at Hostel4 on Vaksali 4 (next to the train station building) and covered by Wikimedia Eesti. If you have any special requests, then please inform us.

Wikimedia Eesti will make reservations of up to two nights for all registered participants (Friday and Saturday) at the hotel. Those will be shared rooms. Any extra nights before or after the meeting should be covered by each participant individually and for that we would recommend nearby Looming Hostel on Kastani 38 (as Hostel4 serves only bigger groups).

Travel arrangements edit

Wikimedia Eesti will not cover transportation to Estonia (or back) unless we have made some special agreement with you stating otherwise.

We will be waiting for you in Tallinn on 4th of October (but you could also arrive directly to Tartu). We will organize and cover transportation between Tallinn and Tartu. On Friday we'll use the train and on Sunday we would reserve you seats on a bus.

Catering edit

Free breakfast, lunch and dinners will be provided. On Friday in Tallinn, the dinner will be together with local wikipedians and on Saturday evening we'll also offer a sauna event.

Tartu City Marathon edit

On the October 4th and 5th, events of Tartu City Marathon will take place in Tartu with more than 8000 participants in total. If you wish to have a quiet walk or go sightseeing in your spare time, please be aware that the town center, mainly the Town Hall Square (Raekoja plats) and its surroundings, is crowded until 22:00 on Friday evening and 8:00-16:00 on Saturday. Also there are fences etc on the Town Hall Square and elsewhere to mark the race course. Of course you are welcome to come and cheer the runners for your entertainment if you like that.
