During the voting, Election Committee issued a daily report at the Election website, https://wikimedia.spi-inc.org/index.php/Reports.

For voting, Boardvote extention was used. We thank our third party partner Software in the Public Interest, Inc and its vice-president Michael Schultheiss, which hosts the voting system and carries responsibility for audited tallying.

The election will use approval voting through the dedicated software (now being discussed), Boardvote interface. Prior to the voting phase will be an endorsement phase, in which each candidate will need to obtain a specific number of endorsements supporting their candidacy. For the final voting, each voter will be allowed to vote for as many of the candidates as he or she wishes. The candidate(s) with the most votes will be declared elected. In the event of a tie, a run-off election will be announced.

Voting will be by secret ballot (we will not publicly list which candidates you supported). The counting of votes will be conducted by an outside third-party organization now being contacted, Software in the Public Interest.

Candidates are advised that the earlier they submit their statements, the more likely that their statements will be translated into multiple languages before the start of the voting period.

Users may not combine edits from different projects to reach the threshold of 400 required for voting eligibility: they must have 400 on a single project, and for voting and endorsing, the first edit with that account must have been made not less than three months before June 1, 2007; for candidacy, less than 1 year before June 1, 2007.

Even if you meet the requirement to vote from several projects, you may only vote with one of the accounts.

yeni tartışmalarımızın bazında, in response to inquiries of people who have been working hard for the project but not meet the voting eligibility based on edit counts, and with the approval of the Wikimedia Board of Trustees, the Election Committee hereby announces expansion of voting eligibility to people in one of these categories:

A) Sisyön: Sistem yöneticileri will be granted voting elgibility on request, if they had shell access to the Wikimedia servers prior to March 1, 2007 and have put in more than 50 hours in total before June 1, 2007. B) Office staff: Staff who are working at the office of Wikimedia Foundation will be granted voting eligibility, if they worked for the Wikimedia Foundation in this manner prior to March 1, 2007. C) Board of Trustees: All current Trustees (either elected or appointed) sitting on the Board of Trustees are defined to be eligible to vote.
