Wikimedia Foundation/Communications/On-wiki documentation working group

The Wikimedia Foundation Communications Department has convened a group of contacts from each Wikimedia Foundation department to better coordinate on-wiki documentation related to the operations of the Wikimedia Foundation. The initial focus was on content transitioning from WikimediaFoundation.org to other Wikimedia sites. Now, the group advises the department on improvements related to on-wiki documentation.

As of 2021, the group's activities are primarily conducted via an internal Slack channel.

History

The group was convened in 2016 to help the Wikimedia Foundation Communications Department to help determine what should be done with the wiki which previously served as the Wikimedia Foundation website. From 2017-2020 the group supported efforts to help organize content left on the wiki - which was repurposed as Wikimedia Foundation Governance Wiki. Since 2020, the group has taken an advisory role and provided input as needed.
