Wikimedia Community User Group Malaysia/Reports/Stockholm Internet Forum 2023

Stockholm Internet Forum 2023 (SIF23) was an international conference organised by the Swedish International Development Corporation Agency (SIDA) which took place in Stockholm, Sweden on 30-31 May 2023. Two members of the user group and two partners were invited by SIDA in representing developing nations at the conference.

WCUGM was the only delegation from Wikimedia to attend SIF23.

Experience of EmpAhmadK

Presenting a token of appreciation from IIUM to SIDA's Director-General, Carin Jämtin.

I would like to thank the Swedish International Development Corporation Agency (SIDA) for the opportunity given by inviting me to Stockholm Internet Forum 2023 (SIF23,) as well as to International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) for the support given during the trip. SIF23 was not only amazing for its efforts in creating a more open and accessible internet globally, but it also serves as a place for underrepresented communities to bring up their points of views among experts and eminent figures in finding a solution for every society. We were really grateful to be given the opportunity to discuss and voice our opinions, as well as to network with global groups, movements, and agencies, including SIDA itself. The experience I have learned throughout the conference will help me a lot in my works in my community.
