Summary
The gender gap is a hard problem, and progress is slow. But there are some practices we already know to work well to encourage women to edit and to retain women editors. I would like to briefly present some of them for discussion and learn about what others have observed to work well.
Preliminary preparation (if necessary)
interested participants should review their own community's experience and practices (perhaps have a fresh discussion with their community focused on distilling their experience into brief, shareable principles and concise examples), and come prepared to share them in the discussion segment.
Expected outcomes
a record of discussed practices and perceived successes and challenges
Duration (without Q&A)
30 to 45 minutes
Specific requirements
a projector and a flipchart might be useful, but neither is essential.
