#1Lib1RefNG is a part of the global #1Lib1Ref editing campaign.1Lib1Ref — abbreviated for one librarian, one reference — calls on librarians/ Wikimedians around the world, and anyone who has a passion for free knowledge, to add missing references to articles on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is one of the first stops for readers and researchers. Join us to help improve the quality of content on Wikipedia . Your goal is to add at least one reference to Wikipedia! Any citation to a reliable source is a benefit to Wikipedia readers worldwide. When you edit, make sure to include the hashtag #1Lib1Ref,#1Lib1RefNG in the edit summary

Objectives

There are significant amount of Wikipedia articles lacking citations, the purpose of the campaign is to

• contribute references to Wikipedia articles.

• Recruit new Wikipedia editors

• Train and Increase skills for existing editors through taking participants through the basics of editing Wikipedia and the addition of verifiable sources to Wikipedia articles.

• Add and improve articles on Wikipedia.

Enroll on the Wikimedia Anambra Network/1lib1refNG Outreach Dashboard to track your contributions.

Find articles needing Citation. Find a reliable source that can support that article

Add a citation using Wikipedia Style. Click here to learn about adding citations and editing Wikipedia

Add the project hashtag #1Lib1Ref,#1Lib1RefNG

Tracking Tools

One of the most important thing about participating in the #1Lib1Ref campaign is to add the hashtag (#1Lib1ref) in the edit summary of the article. To ensure we separately track participation from Nigeria, we will be using in addition to the standard #1Lib1ref tag, the #1Lib1RefNG tag. It is extremely important to use both tags, so that we can track the results and so that each reference entered is recorded in the Wikimedia hashtags tool. Also join the Outreach Dashboard to track your edits.
