Wiki Encyclopedia of Religion

I would like to propose a wiki encyclopedia of religions. For many years, I toyed with the idea of establishing a physical museum of religions that would celebrate the diversity of religious thought and practice, along with the tremendous positive and negative impacts of religion in people's lives and in the world over the millennia, but I recently realized the impracticality of such an undertaking. I think the wiki approach—though it might involve some heavy editing issues—would be the only possible way to achieve such a huge undertaking and to make it truly universal.

This is a proposal for a new Wikimedia sister project.
