The first edition was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2014 by Wikimedia ZA which happens to be the only Wikimedia Chapter in Africa, the second one was held in Accra in 2017 by Open Foundation West Africa. This brought together Wikimedians and people from the Open Community within Africa and in the Diaspora.
