Wiki-Hub, Karu Province is a Wikimedia community comprising of Wikimedians from parts of Abuja and Nasarawa State, Nigeria. We are proposing for the grant to enable us collaborate and actively engage in a 3 days event/activities via in-person meet up, in lieu with the forth coming 2023 WikiIndaba, so as to be one of virtual hosts of the WikiIndaba Satellite Conference, happening in Agadir, Morocco, from 3rd to 5th, November 2023.
In line with the theme of the conference, "Tweeza: Empowering Africa Through Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration," as Africans, the in-person meet up and virtual hosting will engage and equip us with the needed collaboration to share our Wiki knowledge and experiences, and by so doing, we get empowered.
We look forward to share our experiences and impacts, immediately after the event.

User:Frankincense Diala - I am the Lead Facilitator/Hub Founder. I have been a volunteer and editor on Wikimedian for some years now. I have facilitated and also co facilitated Wiki events where newbies were trained on how to navigate and contribute on Wikimedia.
User:Olugold - She is one of the Hub's leader in charge of logistics, and currently the lead person of the IG Wiki Librarian Hub, Nigeria. She is an experienced editor with a vast knowledge in Wikimedia activities and her sister projects. She has led a number of projects and have trained quite a number of editors.
User:Oby Ezeilo - She is the Hub's co founder, and currently the president of the Wiki for Senior Citizens, Nigeria. She is an experienced editor with a vast knowledge in Wikimedia activities and her sisters projects. She has led a number of projects and have trained quite a number of editors. She has been to international Wiki events like the just concluded Wikimedia conference held in Singapore.
User:Ngostary2k - She is one of the Hub's leader, in charge of publicity, and currently the president of the Wikimedia Anambra Network, Nigeria. She is an experienced editor with a vast knowledge in Wikimedia activities and her sister projects. She has led a number of Wiki projects and have trained quite a number of editors, especially governmental bodies in Nigeria.

We are sincerely grateful for the time and effort you invested in applying for a micro-grant for WikiIndaba 2023. Your interest in contributing to this event is highly appreciated.
Unfortunately, we have to inform you that your application was not selected for the micro-grant. We received an overwhelming number of quality applications (77 applications for only 7 grants), which made the decision process extremely challenging. Given the constraints, our focus has been on projects from underrepresented communities or groups that lack on-site representation at the conference. The team decided therefore to provide the grants only to countries where there are no user groups at the moment.
Though your application was not selected, we greatly value your interest in WikiIndaba 2023. Additionally, we encourage you to subscribe to our YouTube channel, where we'll be sharing conference highlights and key sessions.
