The WikiClassics User Group was recognized as a Wikimedia user group on May 9, 2019. This report outlines our accomplishments and activities between 1st August 2023 and 15th of August 2024.

Wikibase Cloud

Three new Wikibase Cloud instances related to classics have been created in 2024:

• Hypotheseis (https://hypotheseis.wikibase.cloud/): regarding ancient Greek and Byzantine rhetorical exercises
• Greek Metrical Inscriptions (https://greek-metrical-inscriptions.wikibase.cloud/): regarding ancient Greek metrical inscriptions
• DataLib (https://datalib.wikibase.cloud/): regarding the Epistles of Libanius

Group and WMF activities

The group currently involves 40 users.

The involvement in WMF activities has been partial, and I (Alexmar983) take full responsibility for that. However, as I have stated previously, including in the Wiki mailing list, I believe content-focused groups should not be the ones driving these activities. More importantly, the issue of individuals influencing multiple votes due to involvement in different affiliates is a significant concern. Once clear and established guidelines are provided on this matter, I see no issue with increasing such participation.

• This report was drafted at the end of August, it was shared on the meta talk page as a draft on August,17th for comments, and also on August 29th.
