Sveikas, Zordsdavini! I see you started a test wikipedia for Samogitian. I supported your request for a wikipedia on the "New requests" page, and I'd like to help. Unfortunately I don't speak Samogitian or Lithuanian. Anyway, if you want a Samogitian wikipedia, I recommend that you should write some articles for the test-wp. And find some more Samogitians to support you. --Chamdarae 20:16, 2 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi again... About the codes for the Samogitian wiki... The reason I recommend changing the codes is on the wikitech-l mailing list (which I don't subscribe to), especially here, here and here. So I think we have to change the codes (again). --Chamdarae 07:55, 20 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Regarding Latgalian code edit

> When there was discution about code of samogitian we decided to use Baltic language + samogitian = bat-smg.

Thanks, Zordsdavini, for the information regarding zemaitian/samogitian language code. There is one thing still unclear regarding the code bat-smg: I could not find the code bat as a code for a Baltic language. Does it come from some ISO standard? Also, the dash-notation is typically used to indicate subdialects of a language (e.g. en-scouse - an English dialect Scouse); but "Baltic" is rather a group of languages than a separate language like English or Lithuanian. Probably some people will like to make the Latgalian version of Wikipedia someday, and perhaps they'll need a code for that. But currently we seem not ready yet; the community of Latgalian writing people has not yet been sufficiently organized for a full-fledged Wikipedia project. Thanks for your considerate remarks! Good luck with launching Samogitian Wikipedia! Kalvis 12:12, 8 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
