re:fy wikt/wb

ad.1.: I asked in #wikimedia-commons^connect and guillom told me about commons:COM:TOOLS, where one can find commons:COM:TOOLS#Commons_Helper (->[1]) which could be used to transfer media. But to be honnest, if the media is not yet uploaded I would personally think that it is easier to upload it to commons in the first place. If You find the new upload form unhandy You can switch to the old one via a gadget in Your commons:Special:preferences. Then You could copy and paste an already filled out template for Your uploads (I am doing it like this). Or if You need better support for Your language there, let me know. Or anything else how to make commons friendlier for You :)
If You prefer to do it with Your own bot, You can ask for botflag here, but I am not familiar with the procedure for botflags there...

ad.2.: Welcome :) @bots: The botrequests sometimes take longer because the page seems not very popular and as You might have noticed some stewards seem away for a while (maybe holidays). But we did not hold the page hostage XD - if the standard bot policy is not implemented we wait one week for interwikibot-requests too, and also I had to wait until another one flagged the bot as I could not flag my own :)

As You can see it is running fine, if You wish I can make fy.wikt a startpoint for one run to catch all its interwiki links.

Hello again Snakesteuben, (don't worry, I seldom archive my talkpages, I hate nothing more than archiving).

• ad.1:

Glad You found the tools site useful.
Too sad, that You had such bad experiences, but maybe we could change that...

I had a look at Your deleted contributions and found 3 images, I was discussing one deletion with another sysop because I doubt I would have deleted it, and he agreed: Image:Lilies Amaryllis maybe.jpg is now restored, and the licence added also as template (the "permission=pd" - the first deleting sysop must have overseen that)

The other two however I can't undelete, they have no licence there, Images in question are: commons:Image:Schachbrettblume.jpg and commons:Image:Œillets (Sweet William).jpg, at Schachbrettblume there was no author or licence, at Œillets was but then You asked for deletion for some reason. If You wish we can undelete it and You can add the correct information.

Maybe You can make some default templates for Yourself You can copy&paste fast, example, what I meant:

etc. Just an example, You could change the licence of course to something else, gfdl, cc-by-sa, etc.
Or if the author is another You can easily change that. I would suggest to leave some copy&paste plates on a subpage or userpage of Yours, eg. commons:User:Snakesteuben/licence, or on Your local PC. Then if You upload, You just copy and paste the information to the upload form and add a short description. I was told commons is a good place, I believe commons is what we make of it :)

• ad.2:

Ok, I will first finish the task on kowikt the bot is doing right now (too much instances at once slow my PC too much down...). However I will explain it shortly if You are interested (if not just skip this section):
If You start interwiki.py from eg. de.wiktionary it will look at the pages that are there and compare with other wiktionaries for interwikilinks. But on fy.wikt for example there are pages that do not exist on de.wikt, therefore these pages won't get an interwikilink from this bot even if there are the same pages on other wiktionaries. Therefore I change startpoints from time to time, to make interwikilinks on other wiktionaries also better.

Hey, thanks for Your answer, You did beat me to reuploading the Schachbrettblume (before I could restor it and add the licence from that other page to it) :)) - looks perfect now

But I restored Image:Œillets (Sweet William).jpg before You could :o) and added some info to it (I found fr:Image:Œillets.jpg, where I took the info from)

The problem I see on commons (from the bit I can see), it is huuuge, what would not be a problem in itself, but it has too few active admins. I guess that is why all the bots grew there, to notify users and mark uploads.

@Enders Game, no I did not know it, the book Radix was send to me by a very, very, very, ... nice wikimedian and I liked it a lot (apparently). I seldom read books in English, now You made me curious ;)

Hi :) not a problem.

I have not read that book, I have read books by Borchert, Saint-Exupéry, Douglas Adams, Lem, Dostojewski, etc., and yes I prefer the authors language :) Lately I am reading Silmerillinn by Tolkien but in Icelandic :o)

Hm, I was /am confused about that bot-request in de.wikt and why You decided not to do it, if we have something wrong categorized we need to fix that first probably, but maybe afterwards it would be possible?

Erf, now I understand, my appologies, I am not that active in de.wikt (finally, a long planned retreat) and do not follow all discussions.

I have now opened wikt:de:Wiktionary:Teestube#Nordfriesisch and hope it will be resolved reasonable and not with arguments like "it looks like they took drugs" or something, Thogo, a linguist already expressed his support. We don't have much entries in Friesisch yet and it could be solved quickly I believe.

Since I am optimistic that we will change that now I would like to ask You kindly for Your help there, we would need to know which is which, there are just a handfull of entries to check wikt:de:Kategorie:Friesisch.

As for the very kind offer, I would prefer to take this off wiki, email maybe,

Hello Snakesteuben, thanks for the message, I had left a note at the section for unexpired requests that Yours had been prolonged (so no one removed it again accidentally), apparently, my message was missunderstood and thus the whole section archived to the wrong archived and Sonne kept admin, I have corrected this mistake now.
