Hi Shutterbug. Welcome to Meta. I'm new here as well. I will have someone on our Communications Committee respond here to your request for an official comment or press release about the Scientology blocks. Jennifer Riggs 06:25, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for the fast response! I guess I'll pro-actively contact Jay on this as well ;-) Shutterbug 18:41, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- Here is what I found: The Foundation doesn't have official statements about arbitration decisions other than to describe the process as developed by and for the Wikipedia community. The Foundation does not control the content on Wikimedia projects, and the policies are set by community members. To read about their decision and the context of their decision and about the general process, go to the Arbitration Committee's page for this caseJennifer Riggs 00:50, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
- This is correct - thanks Jennifer. We've made no official statement, however I have been discussing this decision with a number of media outlets, really only echoing the decision of the Arbitration committee per Jennifer's link above. Thanks! JayWalsh 16:41, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
