Ainu
editHi Scott Gall, I've found the ISO-codes of Ainu. The code for Japanese Ainu is ain, for Chinese Ainu it's aib. These are officially 2 different languages... I don't know of which you want make a new wiki. Greets, Belgian man 15:35, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC) PS: The codes surely are correct.
- Are there really two types of Ainu? And is there a unified writing system like there is for almost all the Scots variants? Scott Gall 19:13, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- The two types are not at all related. Chinese Ainu is spoken far away from Japanese Ainu, has many more speakers, and Chinese Ainu is a Turkic language while Japanese Ainu is a language isolate. --Node ue 21:14, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Then why are they both called Ainu? The original request was for Japanese Ainu until Belgian Man found out about Chinese Ainu. Scott Gall 23:11, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Requests
editHi Scott, I would like to ask you to please stop requesting new languages in Wikipedia so frequently, just because you've heard of a language. In fact, I would like to request that you remove some of those you've already requested (you speak of a need to clean the page, well that's a start), as long as they don't have additional support votes. --Node ue 21:14, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- No need to worry. I've taken a backseat on the requests - for now. Next time I hear of a language, I'll find out more about it, study it up and then I'll consider requesting them. Scott Gall 05:39, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Good news
editThe Scots WP you requested in February has just been created! It now has 16 articles. NazismIsntCool 22:52, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Where did you hear that? Scott Gall 23:11, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Wikikids
editJust to let you know wikikids now has a demo site here[1]. I hope that you will start editing right away.--Sir James Paul 20:59, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
hey
editNoticed u on an archived discussion about some Polynesian WP requests that were knocked back. I'd like to respectfully invited you to vote for Wikipedia Rotuman here. Thanks heaps. Matt Bray
Mayan Wikipedia
editHi. I just found the old request about two years ago on the Mayan Wikipedia. You see, the point is I've been working on the Nahuatl Wikipedia for a year now and currently mantains over 3000 articles. There's no reason on that guy Node ue to interfere on the creation of these Wikipedias. He also failed to close Nahuatl Wikipedia here. There is no need to have native speakers to open a project and even in Nahuatl we recently added our first native user. I know some people there who could help us to finally create the Mayan Wikipedia but I need to know if you're still interested. Thanks --Fluence August 16, 21:02 (UTC-5)

Your account will be renamed
editHello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Scott Gall. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Scott Gall~metawiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
