Hello,

For info, the IP that started editing on fr.wikiquote a few hours ago was by no means a vandal. He/She shortened a citation (which was required by the à résumer template), and added loads of references to another page. I know patrolling wikis in languages you do not understand can be hard, but please be more careful next time... See also here. chtit_draco ^{talk page} 09:38, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

Discussion close

Only bringing it up since you mentioned it in your comment there... Proposals for closing projects/Closure of Swahili Wikibooks has been open since Dec 2007, and I'm pretty sure we can safely close the discussion down, as the project in question has less than 20 pages in mainspace. :) Avicennasis 08:02, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

For kids

Of course it's about Wikipedia, but there's no reason to exclude kids. They (hopefully) will live their lives being able to expect, trust, and rely on Wikipedia, only a click away. They already use it. The only point to building for a better tomorrow is for subsequent generations. Although most of my edits are in politics (and, therefore, transient), I wouldn't be doing this at all without the expectation that it makes a difference to someone, somewhere, and for a better world for kids to grow up in. Besides, missing the opportunity to explain charity, donations, and non-profit groups? The Statue of Liberty was built by kids sending pennies. UNICEF? How about top ten stories about kids' donations? Just who do think your donors will be in ten years? Some of your (best - not intended as a weasel word) editors haven't even graduated high school yet. That gives me hope. Student use Wikipedia during the break and summer to learn things, not exclusively 'pop' events, music, movies, people, and shows. Please read, smile, reconsider, and have a HNY2011!
