Request for permissions, Buginese Wikipedia edit

The local elections page you created, was not linked [1] from any pages on the project and was created [2] on the same day you requested adminship. Projects without sufficient communities are not given permanent sysops by the stewards. If you have reason to need sysop tools on that project, it would be best at this time to request temporary access instead. Please be sure to explain why you need that access, and make sure you post in the correct section of the Requests for permissions page, that way it's not mistaken for elected adminship again. If you need additional help writing your request, feel free to contact me.

I hope this information is useful to you. ~Kylu (u|t) 20:57, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sysop request edit

Thank you for the info. This means that I can only obtain temporary sysop status. Is there any possibility for me to get permanent sysop status? Because, the original admin which is the only admin hasn't been online since maybe in 2006 0r 2007. The only available admin is Drini, but she's a steward not really an admin there. Plus, actually there are only one user active there i.e me. Its a dead wiki project. I want the sysop status to change mostly the messages, the main page name (since the word "halamang" is not Buginese) and I want to edit the monobook.css since I've come out for a better support for the lontara script. Honestly, with no local community, they will not give permanent sysop status. What you can do, however, is put in a request for a long-term sysop. I would ask for six months, personally, in order to do basic articles, javascript and CSS, policy pages, and to try to recruit a community.
Please, please do not do interface translations on bug.wikipedia though! Betawiki is a site dedicated to nothing but interface translations and is far more suited for performing translations and tracking progress. Better yet, it only has to be done once if you use Betawiki, since the next project that comes along and wants to use that language only has to download the language definitions for that language! Your translations go on to help other wikis, including your own project. Much better, don't you think?
So, were I you, I would first make an account on Betawiki, start translations there, ask for a six-month sysop bit on bug.wikipedia to try to get it up to speed, and have some fun.
If you'd like to have the greater community (people from Meta, for instance) help out, you may want to consider placing the global bot policy on that wiki, as well as a project administration page that allows Stewards to do what they feel is needed. This will cut down on the amount of time you have to waste dealing with vandals and permissions request, and allow your new community to focus on what is most important: Content.
Hopefully this reply contains some useful information for you and your project. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me! :) ~Kylu (u|t) 01:10, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your request edit

Response to your note on my talkpage.

The error is in page: bug:MediaWiki:Copyrightwarning:

In this edit a </div> was placed at the bottom of the page, which was correct at the time, but was never removed.

If you edit that page and remove the </div>, it should work fine. Ciao. Hope that helped! ~Kylu (u|t) 20:41, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Help edit

Hello, do u know how to remove the page title and the site sub on the main page or any page? Thanks in advance. Kurniasan 13:23, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

On English Wikipedia, they use this:
<!--

------------------------------Banner across top of page------------------------------>
style="width:56%; color:#000"| <!--

-----------"Welcome to Wikipedia" and article count---------->
style="width:280px; text-align:center; white-space:nowrap; color:#000;"|
<div style="font-size:162%; border:none; margin:0; padding:.1em; color:#000;">Welcome to Wikipedia,</div>
<div style="top:+0.2em; font-size:95%;">the free encyclopedia that anyone&nbsp;can&nbsp;edit.</div>
<div id="articlecount" style="width:100%; text-align:center; font-size:85%;">NUMBEROFARTICLES articles in English</div>

}<!--

------------Portal list on righthand side---------->
style="width:11%; font-size:95%; color:#000;"|
*Arts
*Biography
*Geography
style="width:11%; font-size:95%;"|
*History
*Mathematics
*Science
style="width:11%; font-size:95%;"|
*Society
*Technology
*All&nbsp;portals

This code can be easily changed for other sites. If you run into any snags, feel free to ask. See here for more: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Main_Page&action=edit The code above makes the "Welcome to Wikipedia" box and the portals on its right-hand side. If you have any other questions, let me know. ~Kylu (u|t) 23:40, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Superprotect status edit

Dear Kurniasan, since you are an administrator on a wiki from which no user participated in this discussion, I'd like to make sure you are aware of some recent events which may alter what the Wikimedia Foundation lets you do on your wiki: Superprotect.
