Feedback on May status update
editHello, everyone! We have posted a May status update. We invite you to read it and to share your feedback. We have shared our questions below. Thank you in advance!
Blocking Users
editFor event registration, what is the recommended behavior for blocked users? Should blocked users be able to join campaign events? Why or why not? And does it matter, depending on the type of block (such as hard block, soft block, etc)?
edit- By default, no. That matches current uses. If there's demand you could revisit later adding this as an option. –SJ talk
- @Sj Thank you for this feedback! We appreciate it and have noted it. --IFried (WMF) (talk) 12:16, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
Moving Event Pages
editFor event pages in the event namespace, should we allow the pages to be moved?
edit- Yes. This feels like Category pages; frequently will want to be moved w/in the same namespace, occasionally moved to a different one. –SJ talk
- @Sj This is useful feedback and it has been noted. Thank you so much! --IFried (WMF) (talk) 12:23, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
If yes: What happens if an event page gets moved to another namespace and it has registered participants?
edit- What happens if an event page is simply blanked?
- What happens if two event pages are merged?
- What happens if one event page is split into two?
- By default, I would remove participants if it is blanked; but leave them if it is moved. If it is moved but then replaced w/ a new page, replace the participants w/ the new list. For the general Q of how to update the custom database table of registrants, when the wikitext of the event page is updated, I can imagine many solutions but none seems better than the others. Is the wikitext of the even page meant to be the ultimate authority of the state of the event? –SJ talk
If yes: What should be the behavior/warnings to the user if they want to move the page?
editIf yes: What should happen if an event page is moved to a namespace where event pages are not allowed?
editDeleting Event Pages
editFor event pages in the event namespace, should we allow the pages to be deleted?
editIf yes: Who should be able to delete event pages?
editIf yes: What should happen if an event page gets deleted and it has registered participants?
edit- They should be unregistered; the event is gone. If it's then undeleted they can be restored. –SJ talk
If yes: If people have registered, what should happen to the data if the page is deleted?
edit- Likewise deleted. As with the previous solution. –SJ talk 00:44, 24 May 2022 (UTC)

edit- Is there anything else you would like to add (about the V0 prototypes, release plan, or anything else)?
