Global user page migration

Hello DoRD. I deleted your local user pages on all wikis as you requested via Synchbot. You can see the full log on your archive page. :) —Pathoschild 05:04, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.

As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.

An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.

The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that OTRS volunteers sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have been identified as an OTRS volunteer and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy. If you do not sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015, you will lose your OTRS access. OTRS volunteers have a specific agreement available, if you have recently signed the general confidentiality agreement for another role (such as CheckUser or Oversight), you do not need to sign the general agreement again, but you will still need to sign the OTRS agreement.

Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign

If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnum wikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain your OTRS access. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.

Thank you,
Gregory Varnum (User:GVarnum-WMF), Wikimedia Foundation

English Wikipedia rangeblock

Hi DoRD, I have just seen that you have blocked my IP range for 3 months. May I ask you why? Lately I have edited very seldom the English Wiki and I do not understand what edits of mine could have caused such a hard punishment. I hope you will answer, thanks! 151.20.23.233 15:08, 11 February 2016 (UTC)

You may follow the advice given to you by English Wikipedia administrators in responding your unblock requests there. This is not an appropriate venue to contest the block, though, and I will not be responding here further. —DoRD talk 13:35, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

Thanks so much for your indifference... In my talk pages what else but others unblock requests could I ever write to make an admin notice my messages? This is the only reason I came here! The range block is damaging 65535 potential users, because I could do edits in the ways I said already in my request, even if I preferred following rules to edit en.wikipedia, which is a project I trust in. Do not bother to answer if you have no intention to help me nor explain the reason of such an absurd block, DoRD Post Scriptum: "The fact that a checkuser levied this block is a lot more damning than you think - Large numbers of innocent editors specifically contraindicate a rangeblock." (another admin or user's opinion about your block) 151.20.67.126 14:03, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

I must correct you on one point: The block only affects half that many IP addresses. —DoRD talk 14:30, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

Oh sorry! Just 32767 besides me... Normal users will be prevented and discouraged from editing, vandals (if there are any) (and I have not understand yet what was the cause of the block, it must have been a large-scale brutal attack against administrators' pages or something like that to induce such a harsh measure) will just keep with their disruptive conduct using proxies or fake profiles and bypassing the block anyway, and I could do the same with my contributions but I think that en.wikipedia does not deserve the time I would spend for treating me like that: ergo, the block is useless; nay, counterproductive. But you are not going to care at all about that, not to talk about helping me or even replying, are you? Bravo 151.20.11.75 16:53, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

The IP address is globally blocked.

Unblocking and second chance

Hi DoRD

I know I did bad things but the last account wasn't a sock it was secondary account because I will explain during the summer of 2015 I started to contribute in Wikipedia and I started to create some articles and some of them started to be eliminated and I started to do those things and I started to create those accounts because all I want my articles to get reconized let the readers know about the puroresu world but then I was blocked and I waited six months but I got the wrong steps because this user called Ribbon Salminen told me to create a new account and to get sticked with that account then, I deleted a speedy deletation because I thought that since I created the article that I should delete it, but then you blocked and then I waited until now please give second chance please if give you will not regret it I know the rules I only need the right step and I have readed the guidelines.

So please give me a second chance.

I will wait for an answer

Thank you for your time, and I hope you can unserstand.

If you're talking about Team61ROLL, that is indeed considered a sockpuppet. You, the person, are blocked, so any editing, by any account or IP address, is considered sockpuppetry. Now, since that account was editing as recently as December 18, you'll need to wait until June 18 to qualify for the standard offer. —DoRD talk 16:02, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

I want to be renamed

  Resolved. Handled by another renamer

I heard that you are a global renamer. I would like to be renamed to miles527. If someone has already taken that username, you can change me to miles.527 or miles_527. Either is fine with me. Thanks. Miles.mu (talk) 21:57, 11 July 2017 (UTC)

A problem even worse

Hello DoRD The sitiuation got even worse because during that time I falled over the tentation and I edited again because during that time I started create WhatCulture Pro Wrestling (WCPW), with these accounts: Variouswrestlinglover, TheNewHelper41, TheWrestlerHelper15, Wrestlingloveditor, ThePerstigousHelper134, TheSwordofHell23, TheBuilder456 and 79.168.34.35 (my old home IP address) and it would get into a guy called "Dwdpuma".

Then I pretended to be the guy only to stop chasing WCPW and I got unsuccessfull, later I tried to appeall Diannaa though and I was unsucessfull, now I don't what to do also because I'm globally locked.

Long short story, what should I do, can't wait anymore, I trully learned my lesson but how can I proove the others worng and proove that I learned my lesson?

Thanks for your time

I don't know what to tell you, other than that you're going to have to get some self control and find something else to do. If you must edit, there has got to be at least one site on Wikia that interests you. As you were told on IRC, though, we're not going to be able to help you unless you help yourself first. —DoRD talk 12:10, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

On how, what it can make me occupied and what should I do now? The standard offer?

Thanks for your time

109.49.183.212 12:18, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

I really don't know - that's something you're going to have to come up with yourself. And, the standard offer might be available to you, but not for a long time. —DoRD talk 12:21, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

What do you mean for a long time? If had to do standard offer when should I start and when should I return?

Thanks for your time

109.49.183.212 12:30, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

P.s:Also I'm making in one subject because I don't know if you were notified or not?

Please don't make new sections for each question here. "A long time" is at least six months, but however long it takes for you to learn to follow the rules.
Please note that I do not intend to continue to respond to you here indefinitely. —DoRD talk 12:36, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

@DoRD: So tell me what do, after waiting the 6 months what should I do. Also if I have to wait 6 months when should I start waiting? 109.49.183.212 12:46, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Sock

Hi DoRD, Not sure how it works here but alex made these edits this morning, I did notify an admin[1] but they don't appear to have come on since so thought I'd make you aware, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 12:16, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

I'll try to get a steward to lock the accounts. Thanks —DoRD talk 12:19, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
Brilliant thank you, –Davey2010Talk 12:33, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Review request

Can you please comment on [2]? 185.65.245.209 18:14, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

I have read the policy. It states "An editor who has genuine and exceptional need, and can be trusted not to abuse the right." and "Email the functionaries team or contact a CheckUser directly, explaining why you need to edit via anonymous proxies. Administrators who are contacted through other means may need to consult a checkuser to confirm the problem"

  1. Exceptional need: As I explained on the talk page of RadiX, I have accession problems due to the block of WP and want to manage the SPI case with the same ip in order to prevent further confusion. And as I explained, there was no disruptive edits with the ip.
  2. I can't send e-mail, since I am not a registered user on English wikipedia. Thus, I am contacting you, as a checkuser who active in both en.wiki and meta.

Based on the reasons above, I request unblock for my IP. Can you please respond my request? Also, the relevant SPI cases are still open on the SPI. 185.65.245.209 19:39, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

Global locks

You beat me to the requests. All that formatting for nothing. :) Do they not want the IPs listed or is being in the SPI case is good enough?
⋙–Berean–Hunter—► ((⊕)) 13:25, 2 August 2017 (UTC)

Formatting is easy with copy/paste from the SPI, text editor, and find/replace ;) . Anyway, since I linked the SPI, I'll leave that up to them to decide. —DoRD talk 13:31, 2 August 2017 (UTC)

Can you please change my username to C_abr Thank you Chantalduboisadam (talk) 02:32, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
