T356879

edit

Hello Doğu, please reply to ticket T356879 and notify the community of Pginer-WMF's response. There is no feature to restrict the user from using the content translation extension. There is a feature that makes a group of users publish the translation, that is, all users can translate articles through the content translation extension, but only a specific user group can publish the article. If the community still wants to restrict publishing to a user group after Pginer-WMF responds, give me the task.--Gerges (talk) 17:48, 1 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Proposal for participation in the WAE project

edit

Hello Doğu, as I saw that you are the creator of Adiutor, I wanted to ask you if you wanted to participate as a developer in the WAE (Wikipedia Articles Evaluator) project. WAE would be an interactive interface designed to enable the user to assess a page's compliance with the essential criteria for its possible distinction as a "Featured article" or "Good article". The tool would offer a meticulous analysis of elements not yet meeting the necessary requirements, providing detailed guidance on how to remedy these shortcomings. Unlike a simple checklist, WikiFaros is said to feature an automated reading function, enabling it to automatically assess the potential for the page in question to obtain the label. The ultimate goal would be to provide algorithmic support to less experienced contributors, guiding them through the process of improving their contributions until they meet the rigorous standards of "Featured article" or "Good article". As a result, this initiative could considerably boost the creation and the number of high-quality articles on the different Wikipedias. At the same time, it is important to specify that, despite the existence of checklists, the platform suffers from a lack of support to help users progress towards these labels, which highlights a major shortage of reviewers. This platform will be possibly an applet displayed in a pop-up. Regards, manȷıro💬 16:08, 2 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hey @Manjiro5, Thank you for considering me for the WAE project. Unfortunately, I am unable to participate due to personal errands I need to run. I wish you the best of luck with the project.

questions

edit

Hi, I have a few questions regarding the recent changes to the Pending Changes system on Arabic Wikipedia. I noticed that the appearance of the Pending Changes system has changed, and the frame below the article titles has disappeared. This change is causing some difficulties for editors.

  1. Who approved this new appearance?
  2. Was the community notified about these changes?
  3. How can we restore the frame that used to be below article titles?
  4. Is there an option to revert to the old appearance?
  5. many terms are not translated into Arabic. How can we translate these terms?

Thank you!-- Faisal talk 22:22, 8 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
