Locally documenting botEdit
Hi if JarBot is going to be operating locally here at Meta, please document the tasks that it will be doing on its user page. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 10:46, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @Billinghurst: I will do but currently the system does not allow me to modify another user's page :)
I will move the list later to the Bot page,
Task | Rate | BRFA |

Archiving | daily | experimental |

- Done You should be right to edit in the user ns. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:32, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
Also, to run a bot here on meta, please fill out the bot request at Meta:Requests_for_adminship#Requests_for_bot_flags. — xaosflux Talk 15:21, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
JarBotEdit
Your bot is archiving threads less than 24 hours old, as seen here. This seems rather quick. Would you be able to code the bot to wait until the threads are untouched for at least 48/72 hours after being marked done or resolved? Thanks. Nihlus 13:11, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

Request to increase archiving rate for SRGEdit
Good day. My colleagues and I have been discussing (mentioning @-revi for reference) if it'd be possible for your bot to increase the archiving rate for Steward requests/Global to archive each 6 hours requests marked as {{status|done}}
or {{status|not done}}
. Given that it is a high traffic page, it tends to be crowded with handled requests sometimes, and would make it easier to watch if handled requests could be archived soon. Is it possible for you to do that? Thank you for your help. Best regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 18:50, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hello @MarcoAurelio: done, the bot will archiving each 6 hours requests marked as
{{status|done}}
or{{status|not done}}
in Steward requests/Global page. Best regards, --جار الله (talk) 21:15, 2 January 2019 (UTC)- Hello again. Thanks for the fix. However I note that your bot is not editting since today's midnight in UTC time. Is it experiencing any issues? Best regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 18:26, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hello again. @MarcoAurelio: I test it on my device and it work fine, I will see if there is issues on the server. Best regards, --جار الله (talk) 03:18, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

SRP not being archivedEdit
Hello, can you see why it is not archiving old stuff on SRP? Thanks! — regards, Revi 12:11, 26 January 2019 (UTC)

SRG redundant/locally handled requestsEdit
Hello. It seems that SRG requests marked as "redundant"/"local"(locally handled) do not get archived. Can you please take a look? Thanks! --94rain Talk 04:54, 8 November 2019 (UTC)
- Hello @94rain: would you please give me an example to work on it. Thanks.--جار الله (talk) 07:06, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, "redundant" requests had been there for more two days without being archived. I thought turning them into {{status|not done|redundant}} can work, but still they did not get archived, until they were turned into a simple "not done" and were finally archived in this diff. "local" can be archived, but only after nearly two days. Is it designed on purpose to archive them after such a long period? --94rain Talk 07:38, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
SRGP archivingEdit
Hey there!
Apparently the bot is not archiving SRGP requests when the status is "alreadydone", while it does so on SRG, see Special:Diff/20023253 and Special:Diff/20023252, where I changed the statuses to "done" and Special:Diff/20019770, where the bot archived requests newer than those, but not those.
Thanks for your help! Best, —Thanks for the fish! talk•contribs 16:32, 5 May 2020 (UTC)

JarBot bug?Edit
At 02:03, 18 May 2021, the bot archived two requests from SRG. However, the second of the requests was duplicated in the archive. I don't think this is intended behaviour. ~~~~
User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 10:28, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
- I have removed the duplicated section for now, though the same might have happened on different occasions. ~~~~

SRP ArchivingEdit
Hello. Is it possible to archive the done entries a lot sooner than the other ones? It's a pain to scroll back though the list just to find ones that are not done yet. Would every 3 or 6 hours be possible? Also it would help with SRG looking like a huge backlog also. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 16:15, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hello @AmandaNP: Yes it is possible, on Monday the bot will start archiving the done entries every 3 hours. regards.--جار الله (talk) 17:09, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- Does this apply only to SRP or to SRG as well? As someone who responds to steward comments and closures there relatively often (and also sleeps for more than three hours), I'd rather not have the archiving period that short. ~~~~
User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 17:13, 10 July 2021 (UTC)- @AmandaNP and 1234qwer1234qwer4: how about archiving the done entries every 6 hours?--جار الله (talk) 13:38, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
- 6 hours doesn't make a difference to me. I was only worried about the done ones, the other ones can wait, but if we have to do it together, then 6 hrs is absolutely fine. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 20:25, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
- @AmandaNP Are you talking about "done ones" as an opposite to other closed (not done, redundant, locally handled etc.) requests? ~~~~
User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:29, 11 July 2021 (UTC) - I find that the requests closed with results other than "done" should ideally stay a bit longer, but if there is no technical way to do that, I would not object to archiving everything after six hours. ~~~~
User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 11:56, 14 July 2021 (UTC)- Did you increase the archiving period again by chance? It seems that SRG has not been being archived very frequently lately. ~~~~

Steward requests/GlobalEdit
Hi, there is a problem with archives, with archives with week there is no week 0 of 2022, and if set header to be 0, there would be an error. So, could you fix this and merge 2022-w00 to 2021-w52 (by ISO week system)? Thingofme (talk) 08:15, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
- I also agree that these discussions should not be on the Steward requests/Global/2022-w00 page and instead should be moved to 2021-w52. The page looks a bit of a mess already given by, having a look at the signature dates, some of them are dated back as far as November 2021 and the discussions are not in chronological order. Iggy the Swan (talk) 11:00, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
- This is discussions archived in week 52 of 2021, means that by ISO week date, it's from 27 December 2021 to 2 January 2022. As weeks are different than years, weeks are also handled by the ISO system and the new year doesn't begin in Monday, so the 2021 page is archived for 2 first days of 2022. We have to manage archiving by weeks because it's too long to archive by months. Note: When the bots complete archiving, I will merge two archives and delete the w00. If the problem arises in 2023 I will report it. Thingofme (talk) 14:03, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
