About me
Hi! My name is Wendy the Weasel and I have been involved in the Wikimedia movement for some years now.
My home town is Brussels, but I regularly travel through Europe and around the world. I like to meet people and give them, with my cute presence, a smiling face and a warm feeling. The Wikimedia movement is often cold, and I like to warm up the movement.
My family name is original an acronym for Wikimedia European Action System for Enthusiastic Lobbying. I really like networking, but I might get a bit snippy when I am having a bad day. I love participating in events, especially when talking about licensing and limitations to copyright. In the evening I enjoy a beer or two around Place de Londres in Brussels. Place de Luxembourg I consider to be "too mainstream".
I am a go-getter. I don't like to "talk things to death" but prefer a "just go for it" approach. I am laborious and hardly ever get discouraged when things don't work out at first.
Photo Book
I have my own photo book on Wikimedia Commons where I collect my selfies and photos of me with others at activities and events throughout Europe and Mexico: Wendy on Wikimedia Commons.

My work
I strongly believe Wikimedia should reach out more towards the public, including politicians, to inform them more and better what we as Wikimedia stand for. Therefore I have been appointed as the official mascot of the Free Knowledge Advocacy Group EU at the Big Fat Brussels Meeting Vol.2 on 24 April 2014. Members of the Free Knowledge Advocacy Group EU are referred to as WEASELS, which is flattering me and gives me a blush. They help me in reaching my goals.
In July 2014 I joined the Wikimedia Cuteness Association as full board member. Apart from working on increasing cuteness participation, I would like to tackle the cute gender gap within the cuteness family.
In July 2015 I became the mascot of the volunteers who organise Wikimania 2015 in Mexico City. It was great to see the Mexicans have just like me such a warm feeling, are friendly and smile a lot.
