Awesome wiki projects : how can we collate great projects worthy of support, encouragement, recognition?

Some current thin approaches, each only capturing the minutest slice of great work that happens or is proposed:

  • Highly-upvoted or awarded phabricator tickets
  • Highly-upvoted community wishlist ideas (global, WM:DE, topical wishlists)
  • Project-specific priority lists of features, extensions, other requests
  • Subproject-specific requests for help w/ their own noticeboards (like: resource sharing, FA review, new page review -- implicitly asking for support of an editor's work to make it better)
  • Bounty boards: En:wp and De:wp at various times...
  • Ask other more hands-on-planning projects like ca:wp and wikisource how they manage

Potential solutions edit

  • w:user:sj/Awe
  • Expanded wishlist process?
Few people actively involved seem to want that, least of all the staff team that currently handles the list. A good solution would need high potential throughput, encourage flexible non-perfectionist implementations and community maintenance, and a way to share implementation process across requesting communities, open source communities, tech staff of WMF and other orgs, &c.
