I was instantly hooked when I first came here; I'm really fascinated by this concept. I've been here a month now and feeling a little more at home now....a little. It's a big place. I started kind of slow, played in the sand box a little, read a lot of the talk pages and VfDs. If I remember right I think my first edit was on the movie Suicide Kings. I'm living in the Twin Cities so I've added a couple articles on Twin City institutions Guthrie Theater, Northeast Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, you can take a look and get a sense of my writing style.
As of September 12th I became an administrator. Below you can access some of my admin activity.
Vandalism edit
I'm also finding that doing searches by common words used by vandals (ahem....you can probably think of a few ;]) returns all sorts of things, from articles that consist solely of so and so's a fag to sneaky vandalism buried in the middle of articles. I'm sure I'm not inventing the wheel here but it seems to work sometimes. It's also great for creating lists of songs that have an obscenity in them :)
Work edit
- I'm (slowly) working on red links in the Minneapolis article
- I'm doing quite a lot of RC patrol
- Slowly adding specifications to aircraft in {{aero-specs}}
- I'm finding rewriting articles nominated on VfD in hopes of saving them is very satisfying and I'm having a fair amount of success...I'm also rewriting copyright violators in order to clear the violations, also with some success.
- I'm working on a deletion proposal that's probably a little naive: sponsorVfD.
