About meHi! My name is Percy and I have been involved in the Wikimedia movement for many years now. All our projects are awesome, but I confess I deeply love our multimedia library Wikimedia Commons and its awesome pictures − especially those distinguished by the Featured Kittens process! I also enjoy going on Wiki Takes sessions with fellow Wikimedian plushies to geotag cute monuments (and find some geocaches too ^__^). At first a very shy and reserved contributor, my outlook on the community started to change by watching George the Cat gain leadership in the French-language Wikipedia (running for both ArbCom and adminship). I decided to become more active after reading Puzzly personal appeal, which deeply moved me. Thanks to him, I found the confidence to speak up and try to make a cute difference in our community. Of course, Rory’s starings were also deeply influential in refining my understanding of the Wikimedia movement. |
My workI strongly believe cuteness is the ultimate key to a bright and glorious future for the Wikimedia movement. This belief prompted me to become active in the wider, international community. I travelled to Wikimania 2012 to attend the first-ever top-level plush meet-up where crucial issues were discussed − including the worrying plush-gap in our community. This led Petit Tigre and me to create the Wikimedia Cuteness Association, a thematic organisation promoting Cuteness in the Wikimedia movement. Our entity gained much momentum during Wikimania 2013 where we met many community members, especially during our panel session. Since then, our organisation has sustained a steady growth, attracting several plushies from around the world for its Board of Cuties and gathering many followers accross the movement. Join us too! |
