Introduction

edit

My name is OdysseusTroy, and I am a veteran Wikipedia editor. I started back in 2005, when I was 5 years of age. I didn't really know exactly what I was doing at that time though. That's why now, with my skills (maybe previously raw and unrefined) are now put to use to make corrections worthy of Wikipedia standards and guidelines.

About Me

edit

Nowadays I am very busy though and am planning on attending college. I am a senior in Oklahoma. I have been mostly consistent in much of my school career and my grades have stayed up throughout most of my life (since I started school, of course). If you have any questions about me, I would be glad to answer them so long as you don't post them here, in which case I will completely disregard them because they are meant to be on my talk page. I am fond of the color blue, but it's not my favorite. No color is my favorite. If I started to continue on why no color is my favorite, I would start a sob story and no one likes a braggart or a self-centered attention-seeking hothead. So I won't. :-)

Life's WIP (Works In Progress)

edit

I am also working on developing a real-world OASIS, just like in Ready Player One, the book by Ernest Cline. I am planning to strictly abide by what Cline's vision of the OASIS looks like, but I'm positive that I will also add some things as well. But just like both the book and the movie version, the OASIS will never be a paid service (besides your wifi and products to go with it {optional ones} of course). But if you want to help, please shoot me a message. This could revolutionize all aspects of life the world over. It could end all wars with other countries because, unlike in the real world, despite the avatar dying, when you kill someone in the OASIS you just take all their coinage and maybe get a dropped item or two. They don't die in the real world. That means if world leaders could just open a private chat room and duke it out there, there wouldn't be any reason to fight in the real world and you would certainly have adequate revenge to be able to see their avatars have to start over. But despite the word choice (which albeit some people may be ashamed of in the previous paragraph), what I'm saying is there will be no more real-world fatalities so long as all research goes on despite it. As long as efforts to stop physical and emotional bullying in the real world continue, they will eventually just find their way into the OASIS (in which case there is no possible way to physically harass someone who doesn't want to be bothered {a perk I am including will be the "vision block" function, which will block the person you choose from seeing or interacting with you in any way, shape or form (including to kill you, but the same will happen to you regarding that person as well)}). Many problems can be solved with this project, but because I would take up a whole lot of pages of text if I continued and described my whole passionate story about it, I will cease and desist here. If you have done so, thanks for reading up to that point. Please do not leave any messages or posts on this page and instead leave them on my talk page.

Man, that was a long section... compared to the others, of course (I say 'of course' a lot don't I?)...

My Interests

edit

I know I kind of already covered this above a bit, but I feel like I didn't focus on the topic well enough so here it is---a section titled to dedicate to the topic. So, I'm interested in writing (and have written quite a few stories, poems, multi-part works and polls/quizzes under the pseudonym "Troy Chainsington is Extra Ordinary" on Quotev), and love doing it. But I also like listening to music, watching movies and playing games.

Writing

edit

The main bulk of all my writing falls into three genres: Fiction, Poetry, and Philosophy/Musings. I can't call the third one "Philosophy" simply because I take on a conversational tone in most of my philosophy. I can't delve any deeper or I'll start to write some right here on this page. Anyways, my fiction could be better, I believe. My poetry is OK, but poetry is poetry--- judging a poetry by its content doesn't always feel right. Philosophy seems to be a metaphorical 'forte' for me. I can get deeper into some of the most unexplained topics and regardless of how little we know about it, I can sometimes write up to 14 pages in just one (maybe 3-hour) sitting.

Music

edit

I can't narrow this section down to any genres because if I tried I would blatantly and flatly fail. I listen to any genre of music I hear, including (but not in the foggiest daydreams of anyone limited to) screamo, heavy metal, pop, rock, jazz, Nintendo rock, classical, hip-hop, rap (if that counts; if not, disregard that word and comma), funk, fusion, reggae, blues, oldies and ballad. I also compose music, though most of it is piano music with only one piano part. Some of it is different, and I've composed some music that includes harpsichord, organ, piccolo, violoncello, violin, double bass, contrabass, flute, recorder and cello just to name a few. My favorite music is that from the OST Soundtrack of The Last of Us (a game by Naughty Dog Games), composed by Gustavo Santaolalla (my favorite guitarist). My favorite song from that one so far is "All Gone (No Escape)". I'm not sure where in the game that came in (though I have watched playthroughs), but I like it anyways.

Movies

edit

I can't say that I've ever directed, starred in or even been on the active set of a movie, but I can say honestly I have a few favorites. My favorites are obscure to the point where within a few minutes of recalling them I forget them, however, so I'll just keep updating this section with them when they come to mind.

Games

edit

I have a long history of playing games. Anything you can think of released by nintendo (besides the recent Nintendo Switch and Wii-U) I've played. The PlayStation maybe not actually, but PS4 and Gamecube you can bet on it I've played. Just in case the other participant's a cheater, don't bet anything big. My favorite kinds of games are RPGs, though I do some tabletop roleplaying and MMO gaming as well. Sometimes, though, it's just not good enough to rely on modern games to entertain you---that's about the time I start with the Atarii Flashback 8 Gold. Can't fry that version, but it's still nice to find some easter eggs on there once in a while. I've found a few (including one in Adventure, one in Missile Command and one in Polaris) just waiting to be discovered sometimes... I can't brag though, I'm not so great after about 15 minutes of play because my hands get sweaty or I have to shift positions and the joystick moves or even sometimes the occasional pull-the-plug-on-accident problem. Clumsy plug!
