"If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together." - Lilla Watson

About me

I was born in Vietnam, but immigrated to the US with my family as a child. I have lived abroad for many years in places like Tokyo, Daegu, Cape Town and Paris. I ardently believe that traveling - as well as reading - expands your perspective of and increases your empathy for all of humanity. Tangentially, knowledge - especially knowledge that is inclusive, diverse and representative - allows for the same. And that's why I'm excited to be part of the Wikimedia Foundation, to further the knowledge movement. My interests include volunteering locally (what better way to learn about the community you in live?), reading (particularly fiction authored by non-WWM), taking walks, advocating for human rights (with a focus on immigration and refugees issues) and traveling to and learning about different countries and cultures.

My work

I joined the WMF family on November 1, 2021 with no prior experience in Wiki, but years of experience as a project manager (previously, at a non-profit organization focused on international community development). I will be supporting the Movement Strategy & Governance Team to better serve, empower and equip, and respond to the Wiki communities!
