Women in the Wikimedia movement: Conversations with communities

edit

In honor of Women’s history month, the Community Engagement team at the Wikimedia Foundation is excited to host a series of conversations about women in the Wikimedia movement, and what their experience is like contributing to our projects.

Gender gaps can be found in many facets of the Wikimedia movement, which presents a variety of challenges to our mission. Therefore, it’s important to discuss the spaces in which women in Wikimedia are thriving – what can be done to build on those successes, and how can we replicate these success stories in other environments?

Our conversations will focus on women within three strategic areas of our work: Programs, Technical Spaces, and Leadership positions. The goal of these discussions is to foster understanding of challenges and inequalities that women face throughout our movement, and to engage with our communities to help better address them.

These conversations will be online events, streamed on YouTube, and hosted via BlueJeans If you would like to participate in these events, please sign up below. Looking forward to seeing many of you online!
