Epictetus, "The Encheiridion, or Manual, XXIV" (c. 135 A.D.), as translated by George Long, The Discourses of Epictetus with the Encheiridion and Fragments (1890), p. 388
About me
I have worked in accounting and finance in both the not for profit and for profit sectors, including serving as Chief Financial Officer of the New Teacher Center, the Community Foundation Silicon Valley and the Pacific School of Religion. I joined the Wikimedia Foundation in August of 2011.
In addition to my work in accounting and finance, I have overseen investment portfolios ranging in size from $3 million to $490 million and managed information technology, human resources, administration, facilities, campus dining and campus housing. I also have experience in global risk management and supporting global grant making teams with financial analysis and on-site financial reviews.
I have also served as Board Treasurer for the Oakland Youth Chorus and the Pacific Collegiate School.
My work
As Chief of Finance and Administration I am responsible for the financial, administrative and office information technology operations of the Wikimedia Foundation. I am also responsible for pre-grant and post-grant compliance, financial reviews and on site financial reviews for the Wikimedia Foundation's annual plan grants program. In addition, I manage the Wikimedia Foundation's investment of it's cash reserves and serve as Treasurer of the Wikimedia Foundation.
