Faidon Liambotis
Director of Site Reliability Engineering, Wikimedia Foundation
About me
I enjoy the intersection of network, system & software engineering and have been working in operations, infrastructure and DevOps/SRE roles for more than a decade. I am passionate and have a long history of volunteer and professional involvement in the free/open-source software, free culture and digital rights/privacy movements.
I am Greek and live in Athens, Greece where I was also born and raised. My name is the Latin transliteration of the ancient Greek name Φαίδων and can be pronounced as /féðon/.
My work
I joined the Foundation in 2012. I currently co-lead the Site Reliability Engineering team (previously known as Technical Operations), which is responsible for keeping the Wikimedia sites reliable, scalable, secure and performant.
