Bastion of Privilege? edit

I have been thinking more and more about my time as an early editor, and was wondering how accurate the demographics for contributors to the English-language Wikipedia are -- and what they are at this point. It seems to me that, in the last seven years, there seems to have been little movement on recruiting and retaining contributors of colour and contributors who are women, especially. This plays into the entire objectivity policy, in that 'objective' seems still to reflect 'objective because it doesn't fly in the face of the normative.' Has anything really been done to encourage contributors to check their privilege (primarily white, straight, male privilege) and call users and administrators on Mansplaining?
