Wiki Project idea: academic research and collaboration

I'm interested in the potential for a wiki project centered around research and academia, including discussion and writing about original research, information on published papers/research, and information on professionals, where they work, their research, etc. Basically, a tool to allow academics to collaborate and research more effectively.

Proposed Wikimedia projects ScholarWiki, Wikireason, and Wikithink may be relevant to this aim, and possibly even the current Wikimedia project Wikiversity
