About me
Hello! My name is Aishwarya (she/her), and I live in the misty city of San Francisco. I'm a product designer, writer, and artist. I'm interested in systems thinking, feminism, and decoloniality. You can read some of my writing on Medium and The Wild Word. I have immense respect for the volunteers who edit Wikipedia and am always excited to meet and learn from them. If you'd ever like to chat, please reach out to me at avardhana@wikimedia.org.

My work
I joined WMF in February 2021, and my first project was redesigning The Wikipedia Library homepage. (Free access to paywalled research for Wikipedias who qualify! Go check it out.) After that I led design on the Abstract Wikipedia (AW) team and designed the blueprint for UX and UI on Wikifunctions (2021-2022). After an exciting and industrious year on AW, I joined Trust and Safety Tools as their design lead in July 2022. Our team is currently designing and building a Private Incident Reporting System in collaboration with the Trust and Safety department.
