The Karakoram Highway (KKH) is the highest paved international road in the world. It connects China to Pakistan across the Karakoram mountain range, through the Khunjerab Pass at a recently confirmed altitude of 4,693 metres (15,397 feet), which makes it by far the highest paved international border crossing in the world.

I've been working on improving this article recently, and I thought it would make a good ToTW because it is an appropriate length, touches on all the major fields of Greenlandic music and is referenced, with inline citations. It currently exists on in English. Some important links are to en:Inuit music, en:hip hop music, en:throat-singing, en:shaman, en:roots revival, en:rock (music), en:fiddle, en:accordion and en:polka. There does not appear to have ever been a ToTW regarding Greenland, the Inuit or anything concerning the Arctic, so this would be a good article for small wikis to start with covering the culture of this area, as well as a good first "music of" for those wikis without any yet. I've left a request at the Danish message board on en and on the talk pages for the main page at the Inuktikut and Greenlandic Wikipedias. Tuf-Kat 08:16, 3 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This nomination appears to have been selected as TotW, but apparently there was something incorrect about that and it was reverted, but the nom was not re-added here. I've put it back where it was, but if I misunderstood what was going on, feel free to fix it. Tuf-Kat 16:45, 13 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe that's because the selection of en:Prunus was almost a week late. --Puzzlet Chung 12:21, 14 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Hey guys - this ToW stuff has gotten way out of sync. Firstly, our good friends the silverfish seemed to stay up there for an eternity. Then, Greenland makes an appearance for about two days, and before you can say ikke bra, Prunus appears out of nowhere. So is Prunus this week's or last week's or the week before's (I'm so confused, I don't even know if I am using my possessives correctly!). Having said all that, I agree with Node that in the first instance, this article did need a bit of touching up - cci l'avevu pi testa pi farilu, ma.... --pippudoz - (waarom? jus'b'coz!) 05:39, 17 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Somebody once asked for a Danish translation - now this is available. Unfortunately, I cannot boast of any special knowledge of the subject, but I have been crosschecking a few of the facts and have also been making a few corrections in the English article. Amjaabc 14:22, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

      • Great! Did you expand the Danish article too? My Danish is about as good as my Greenlandic, but that looks longer in some parts than the English version (though maybe Danish just has longer words than English). Tuf-Kat 01:44, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Comments There is probably some other "Royal road" in all languages, and this isn´t the one usually referred to as the Royal road. Maybe "Persian royal road", "Achamedian..", "royal traderoute of ancient Persia" can be suitable in your language.Johan Jönsson 14:18, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Without an English translation I see only few chances for further widespread translations. --Marbot 17:41, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I know at least one example of a nominated article, which had no English translation for a long time (but it had several other language versions: eo, de, cs and so on), about Antoni Grabowski. - Slavik IVANOV 17:27, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm translating it (or at least I'm trying to made it). --Ilario 10:04, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ilario, I'm a fluent English and Italian speaker. So let me know either through my talk page or mail (roderick dot mallia at gmail dot com) if you need any help with the translation. --Roderick Mallia 19:40, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, surely. When I finish the translation I contact you. I'm translating it en:Greek calabrian dialect --Ilario 08:39, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In the Chinese version exists a picture taken after the war.--Taichi - (あ!) 23:57, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Is obvious that this war only had a duration of 45 minutes, then this war had few events, and then this article may be result little.--Taichi - (あ!) 22:29, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
