• Wikimedia Statistics can be difficult to interpret. What is your impression, how many steady contributors do you have?

This was my estimation from the village pump. Now I have counted in one week (recent changes) 71 contributors who made at least 10 edits, made the first edit at least six months before, and who actually speak Esperanto.--Ziko-W 15:43, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

• Are your contributors mostly native speakers?

No, only some. According to the user pages our contributors indicate quite different levels.--Ziko-W 16:23, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

• Where do your contributors live (regions/country)?

• How common is it that your contributors meet in real life?

Quite common, at ordinary Esperanto conventions, sometimes special Wikipedia or computer issues meetups organized by E@I.--Ziko-W 16:23, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Other Wikipedias

• Do you have special contacts with other Wikipedias (maybe in related languages)?

No, but every Esperanto speaker speaks at least one other language (so our contributors are often active in another Wikipedia language edition, too).--Ziko-W 16:23, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

• Do you translate a lot from other Wikipedias? Which ones?

Yes, mostly from the Wikipedias in our native languages (I guess).--Ziko-W 16:23, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Organization and support

• Is there a Wikimedia chapter in your country? How does your language relate to it?

No, there isn't, as there is no country with Esperanto as an official or minority language.--Ziko-W 16:23, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

• Are there work groups in other organizations about Wikipedia?

E@I is an organization that is busy with Esperanto and computers and internet issues, it has a work group about Wikipedia.--Ziko-W 16:23, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Your Wikipedia and the linguistic community

• Is there a language institution for your language, like an Academy, or a club of people interested in your language? Do you have contact with them?

The Academy of Esperanto only observes the language and publishes about it. But Universal Esperanto Association (UEA, with its national affiliates) actively promotes the language. Most Esperanto Wikipedians are members of UEA or a national or local or special interest group association.--Ziko-W 16:23, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

• Who (else) supports you?

• How looks your public outreach for your edition? Do you have flyers, give lectures, trainings etc.?

Yes, there have been at least two flyers. Lectures and trainings sometimes at Esperanto conventions.--Ziko-W 16:23, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

• Does your edition concentrates on certain topics, like your region and language, or Latin Wikipedia on Roman history and Christianity?

A certain concentration on Esperanto issues, but not very prominent.--Ziko-W 16:23, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

There are also articles about constructed languages in general that can't be found on English Wikipedia, example eo:Volapükagased pro Nedänapükans Shii 06:51, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

• Did your edition enjoy text donations, for example from older encyclopedias?

Yes, from the Esperanto encyclopedia of 1934, some reference books and an Esperanto news magazine (Monato), with permission.--Ziko-W 16:23, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Language

• Is there a generally accepted norm about your language (spelling, dictionary, pronunciation)?

Yes.--Ziko-W 16:23, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

• How do you deal with different spellings, dialects etc. (like B.E. lift and A.E. elevator)?

Esperanto has a "phonetical spelling" and no dialects, but there are some single issues like the naming of countries. We follow usually the Academy, modern Esperanto dictionaries and the "common use" we find in Esperanto magazines.--Ziko-W 16:23, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
