Talk:Wikimedia Foundation Annual Plan/Tuning sessions
Continuity
editCould tuning sessions, quarterly check-ins and quarterly reviews be listed in a single page? The discontinuity in the listings is regrettable in my opinion: the meetings are more alike than they are different. I think it would be sufficient to insert a break in the entries with a short note explaining significant format changes. --ATDT (talk) 22:20, 21 July 2020 (UTC)

- Maybe also the quarterly reports and monthly reports that were before those. --Yair rand (talk) 00:13, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
- ATDT, could you elaborate more on your suggestion? Are you suggesting that the contents of all these pages should live on one, big page, or is it something else? --Elitre (WMF) (talk) 10:47, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
- The long-form description of the format changes might stay in separate pages; I don't have a strong opinion about that. I was mostly hoping to have a master list of all the quarterly Xs on a single page -- i.e., extend the table on quarterly reviews so it includes the check-ins and tuning sessions as well. What do you think? --ATDT (talk) 05:16, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

- Thanks for clarifying - so, all of those things are historical/obsolete. "Tuning sessions" is the only quarterly meeting that departments have, and hence it's the only one that anyone really needs to see. I think it could mention those previous formats so that those are easy to reach. Then again if someone has specific needs I believe that page transclusion could help with that, I just wouldn't want to make the current page heavy with content that is no longer relevant. --Elitre (WMF) (talk) 08:42, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Elitre (WMF): See also SJ's comment here. The different formats and there changes over time can get confusing. (Also: Where is the 2020/2021 annual plan?) --Gnom (talk) 13:04, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hopefully my comment above clarified, though? Re: the plan, reminder. Hope this helps. --Elitre (WMF) (talk) 17:21, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Elitre (WMF): Yes, thank you. Now how can we make it easier for people to navigate between the different pages concerning the WMF's reviews and updates, whose names have changed over time while serving the same purpose? --Gnom (talk) 17:58, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- You can redirect to this page, and add a line that says something along the lines of "for quarterly updates FY 2000 to 2010 see link here, for quarterly updates FY 2010 to 2020 see thisotherlinkhere"? --Elitre (WMF) (talk) 08:33, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
- Done. I have to say I'd expect the Wikimedia Foundation to chip in here as well. --Gnom (talk) 21:14, 21 August 2020 (UTC)

Fourth quarter presentation decks are late
editLast year's fourth quarter presentation decks were published in July. This year's have still not been posted. When can we expect to see them? --Andreas JN466 07:10, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
- I was very recently told they are on their way. Thanks for your note, --Elitre (WMF) (talk) 12:21, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. Fingers crossed! Regards, --Andreas JN466 13:03, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Elitre (WMF): Last year's fourth-quarter decks arrived in late September/early October. But this year's are still not available. Do you have an ETA? Best, Andreas JN466 21:36, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks for pinging. I am not involved with this work personally, so I'm afraid I can't provide much insight this time :/ You could try asking the Communications department, I think. --Elitre (WMF) (talk) 11:17, 12 October 2022 (UTC)

Tuning session decks are no longer public
editThe WMF is no longer publishing the presentation decks from its quarterly tuning sessions at the end of each quarter, per this thread on the Wikimedia-l mailing list.
RIP transparency. :( Andreas JN466 19:43, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
