Practical application edit

What immediate practical application, if any, would this proposal have for improving a Wikimedia project? Blue Rasberry (talk) 21:50, 16 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Declining for fellowship edit

Thanks for submitting your idea! This sounds like a very interesting project, but we feel the scope is too broad for the fellowship program. Wikimedia Fellowships are a bit different from more traditional academic fellowships or research grants - for a research project to be chosen for a Wikimedia Fellowship it must have very clear practical application and anticipate actionable outcomes for the Wikimedia community. Projects should clearly targeted to the goals and most critical issues in the Wikimedia community. Although we appreciate Wikimedia is part of a larger online collaborative ecosystem, fellowship projects that focus on Wikimedia specifically are most likely to be accepted. You would be welcome to reapply to the program in the future with another idea, thanks again for participating. Siko Bouterse (WMF) (talk) 05:26, 31 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
