Could we get a few equivalence (the main figures) of your program in dollars ? Anthere 23:10, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
- We will be requesting the amounts in forints and the exchange rate is very volatile. As of today 1 USD = 226 HUF; 100 000 HUF = $441. --Dami 23:14, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
- Hence a total budget of 63 000 dollars. Anthere 23:06, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Model Creative Commons contracts
editThis is really a great idea :) Do you already have in mind concrete situations where these contracts would be used ? Léna 08:33, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- There are a number of cases, where the government (e.g. the office of the Parliament) pays a photographer to create photographs of MPs or ministers or certain government events but they don't receive all the necessary rights to put the pictures under CC. When we ask them, if they would be willing to switch to a CC contract, the answer is often that they would be open to the idea if someone else wrote the contract for them (otherwise they have the contracts that they have always used and can use until the end of time).
- We have a few possible leads of institutions, who would be open to such contracts, but can't publish their names in advance of an actual agreement. --Dami 08:49, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, Thanks for the quick answer and again, great idea :) We (Wikimédia France) had some issues with a photographer union (they were saying that CC licences were "killing professional photographers" and they were violenty against Wiki Loves Monuments), so I'm really looking forward this :) Léna 09:24, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- Up :) Are you working on this contract with professional photographs ? We really have issues with this union ^^ Léna 15:17, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
- The idea is more to work with government or local government institutions, small museums, so to make sure the people who order and pay for the photographs get the results under CC. We are not working with photographers on this, it could be an interesting dynamic (on the one hand, they would still get paid for the same photos from the government, and they might get some extra publicity if the photo is widely used; but, also, maybe different parts of the government wouldn't have to pay three different photographers to take a picture of the same thing, if the first picture is already freely usable) – fortunately, no photographers' union has set their sights on us yet :) --Dami 16:31, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
