Talk:Wiki Loves Love
Warm Welcome
editHello everybody ! So far I don't much to add to the current state of the project page. I felt like an initial message would lower the barrier for a first feedback in the talk page. Be bold, give your feedback, edit the project page, tell your opinion on the project, propose some essential items of roadmap… You have all my love and support to express what you have in mind ! --Psychoslave (talk) 13:08, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
Related blog posts and other links
editI know of a few related links, that could perhaps be of use.

I'm not sure whether to link them on this project page and/or the Commons project page, for visibility. I'll leave to you. <3 ;-) Quiddity (talk) 23:57, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @Quiddity:, I just went through it, although I will definitely have to take more time to look at it more carefully, but all that seems full love and completely appropriate for a broader visibility on the page. :) --Psychoslave (talk) 20:22, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
2019 edition theme proposals are open, share your ideas!
editIn the discussion at Wikimania WLL meetup 2018, it was suggested that annual themes similar to Wiki Loves Africa should be implemented as the model. And a number of themes were suggested and now is the final time for us to decide on the theme, so we can float it on the social media and on our grant page and keeping that in mind, we are opening the portal for discussion of theme for WLL2019. Also,as suggested by the advisory board, the theme needs to be
- Defined
- Explained
- Examples with images/videos
- Resources that can be used (for instance, where can we find content related to these. It may be a place, an event, or an institution. Resources should be listed for each region). --Wikilover90 (talk) 13:55, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
The goal is of course to make 2019 and following edition as successful and useful as possible. The following suggestions were already proposed:
- gestures of love
- love in different cultures
- weddings and other ceremonies of love in different cultures
- love in animals
Please be bold in proposing other thematic or discuss this ones. This discussion will finish at the end of August 2018, after what the theme of the 2019 edition will be selected. --Psychoslave (talk) 13:34, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
On the Wiki Loves Love Telegram group Sai Sumanth Javvaji also suggested theme:
- People Love Food
- It's like people having the food they like the most and we have to capture their facial expressions during that time.
- That's nice, but risk of overlap with Wiki Loves Food is high, although this one is not centered on people interaction with the food --Psychoslave (talk) 14:48, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
- If the pictures should be included in the different wp then weddings have the greatest potential, because there are a lot of categories on weddings on wikis: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Wedding. There could also be subcategories like by religion, by nationality, clothing, food, gifts, traditions... --Sparrow (麻雀) 🐧 03:17, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you @Sparrow (麻雀): for this feedback. I agree with the great potential. Now to judge it better, I'll have to look at how much it is not already well covered in Commons or not. We should also see the project as a way to cover gap in the proposed themes. Now as it's the first international edition, it it actually also well to take in consideration how much interest people will have for the theme. Cheers, Psychoslave (talk) 04:16, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
Telegram
edit@Psychoslave: The link for the Telegram channel seems not to work. --Ameisenigel (talk) 21:14, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thamks @Ameisenigel for signaling that. The previous channel has indeed been lost. I created a bright new public channel for the project, you can join it through https://t.me/wiki_loves_love Psychoslave (talk) 16:26, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks! --Ameisenigel (talk) 21:25, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
