Wikicite is a project proposal (i.e. proposal to set up a new wiki/domain), while this is an event. Nemo 08:00, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
Friendly Spaces - compliance with GLS German Language School policies
editJust a friendly (pardon the pun) reminder to make sure that the Wikimedia Friendly Spaces policy adheres to any policies or guidelines that the GLS German Language School has, regarding open and fair access by individuals to events. The reason I mention this is because the October 2015 "Wikiconference USA" event at the National Archives enforced a Friendly Spaces policy that was executed in a way that was not compliant with the requirements of the host facility. This led to a situation where key federal employees were not given any of the information that they had expressly asked for in advance of the meeting, so the meeting organizers were in violation of the federal guidelines given them. A black eye on the Wiki Movement. Please be careful with your implementation of the Friendly Spaces policy. Lately, it has been used to just "shun" guests for no stated reason at all, which is certainly a poor way for the Movement to represent itself. - Thekohser (talk) 22:47, 11 May 2016 (UTC)
Forward looking
editThe report so far does not seem to address the future. How are the ideas developed to be translated into plans of action, with people working to implement them? I'm not seeing anything of the sort so far, and it would be absurdly wasteful for all these good ideas to sit idle indefinitely. Is there some such intention described in a place that I just haven't found? LeadSongDog (talk) 16:44, 16 June 2016 (UTC) @Dario (WMF):@BrillLyle: Nothing to say about it? LeadSongDog (talk) 21:05, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
- @LeadSongDog: thanks for asking :) You are not seeing any of it because the report is simply not up yet. What you see are the raw notes from the sessions. We're drafting a detailed report, which will not only inform the next steps but also let the funders know how the money we received was used. Wikimania and a number of urgent end-of-fiscal-year items took priority in the last few weeks, but I'm back to work as of today after some days of vacation and you should see some updates soon.--Dario (WMF) (talk) 13:54, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Dario (WMF):Ok, so time marches on. Where are the action items that need to be addressed? LeadSongDog (talk) 16:25, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
- I believe discussions and updates are to be found on mailing lists. --Elitre (WMF) (talk) 06:26, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

Who convened this event?
editWas this a Wikimedia community event or was it organized by the Wikimedia Foundation?
Who were the principle organizers? Thanks. Blue Rasberry (talk) 12:00, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
- The principle organizers can be found at WikiCite 2016#Organizing_committee, and in terms of convening, I consider it a community event organized with the help of the Wikimedia Foundation, Wikimedia Germany and others. -- Daniel Mietchen (talk) 12:59, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
