Participate Uralic language contest 2019
editJon Harald Søby, hello!!! Can we invite all the Finno-Ugrians to the contest? Because the Karelian activist Alexei Tsykarev we have the International year of Indigenous Languages of the UN (his proposal was heard and implemented). And in Russia there are other Finno-Ugric Wikipedia (karelian, vepsian, mari, udmurtian) (and not only Finno-Ugric), there are other indigenous languages in Russia (Tatars, Bashkirs, Sakha and others). Can we invite them to participate and partnership?--Erzianj jurnalist (talk) 20:28, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Erzianj jurnalist: Yes! That is very much welcome. We wanted to keep the scope of the contest a little bit limited so it would not be too large and unwieldy, which is why we settled for Uralic/Finno-Ugric languages and peoples. But other minority languages in the region should be welcome too if they want to join. Do you have any contacts in those communities that we can reach out to to help build article lists and such?
