About wikifying

edit

Hello Mervat,

I’m not sure what you try to do, adding <br> tag at paragraph ends, because these produces no visual change (only unexpected tag for editors and translators).

Also, I think you misunderstand description list syntax:

; a term or a phrase : a description for this term/phrase.

gives:

a term or a phrase
a description for this term/phrase.
  • The term/phrase is in bold: no need to surrend it with 3 single quotes.
  • The colon is not displayed and the description comes on a new line (that’s why we usually start new line with colon in wikitext in order editors better understand this is description and not an usual colon).
  • The description cannot contain any new line character: if you want to have several paragraphs to describe a term, you should probably use level-4 headings (or higher).

Finally, note if you hardcode “right” for images, it will displays at the right even for RTL languages.

  • You can keep thumb param, which well default align: users will click on the image to see it bigger.
  • You can also specify a manual width, keeping thumb, adding 250px parameter, for example. Note this will display the same width for all screen size, so not ideal for accessibility.
  • Finally, you can use {{dir|{{PAGELANGUAGE}}|left|right}} which displays “right” for LTR languages and “left” for RTL languages.

@Pols12:, thank you for the advice and for fixing my report. I will fix whatever needs fixing as advised. --Mervat (WMF) (talk) 08:36, 19 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Reporting

edit

Hi Mervat (WMF). In the text you write "Only 19 participants (21.8%) thought they could report bad-behavioural issues to the administrators with complete confidence." but the chart seems to say it's 45 (54%). Can you help me understand? Thanks, Barkeep49 (talk) 03:28, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Barkeep49 for your comment, it was absolutely wrong. I fixed both the text and the chart. --Mervat (WMF) (talk) 10:17, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
